To produce our film and make it outstanding to the rest, we have to create a character profile to suit the genre and plot of the film. Hence, we brought a character from outside of the group, which was very enthusiastic and wanted to show his talent in acting, however this character refused to reveal his face and does not want to be recognised and claims he want to remain anonymous throughout the film which. This character also insisted that his name shouldn't be told to anyone outside the group, therefore we named the character "Jerome" which suits the background of the character, and mostly the genre of the film. The character is about 6"ft with dark skin colour and a hefty build. In addition, this character has got a "bad boy" style, with "street swagger" and "attitude". This can be seen in his choice of dark clothing, which are always "fresh" and urban. However, what distinguishes him from other youths, is his immense talent. Our character shares a similar profile to many other films on t.v. such as "Misfits", "Adulthood" and "Kidulthood".
• Organise blog posts so they are chronological. (You must have your analyses first of all, then your initial ideas & target audience and go from there). Things like not having your questionnaire, results & then written discussion together, loses you marks.
ReplyDelete• Inspirations should also be embedded with images and/or video clips; you are missing key chances to gain marks with some of your inspirations posts, in particular the one on the riots, which can be easily enhanced with videos, newspaper headlines & front covers and images.
• You initial ideas posts are good, but are disjointed and need to be organized and collated together as one post. Try to show more clearly that you thought of one or two ideas and then fleshed out a final one in more detail.
• You must have 3 analyses of film magazine reviews, focusing on use of conventions, style, layout etc. As well as another 4 analyses of short films (including one from previous students). Your analyses, although often a little short, are very good and you need to focus on including more of these. Your marks will go up if you finalise your analyses. I would also add one more analyses of a students’ poster, in place of the Rollin’ with the Nines one, as this is actually a DVD cover. You could add this, instead, as an inspiration, perhaps.
• Must upload your draft poster & magazine article; explain in detail each aspect of your poster and magazine review, noting why used. Link this to the conventions of posters & magazine reviews and use terms and justify reasons why you are creating it in this way. Link to the brand identity that you are trying to create.
• You need a draft/completed logo, again with reasons why you have completed it in this way, linked to your overall brand identity. We will work on this tomorrow.
• You post on resources should talk about why you need these resources and what you intend to use them for, not looking back and discussing how you used them.
• You also need to add in posts on props & costumes, with images & reasons for your choices.
• Once completed, you should upload your storyboard animatic and script too.
• As well as this, it would be good to have a research & planning diary that outlines all the things you have done in the last 6 weeks.

Sorry, two more things, please make sure that you complete your brand identity post and that you complete a full target audience profile that outlines the type of target audience that you are aiming for.
ReplyDeletefirstly, avoid analysing in bullet point, and give clear detailed explanations. add titles to all your posts ; so its clear. also there is not enough detailed analysis on all films. make sure influences are explaibed, for e.g why are you influenced, what inspired you etc...safe
ReplyDeletePERSONAL GROUP TARGET - fully complete (in depth)all posts to a minimum length of one and a half paragraphs. Also finish analysis asap before it is too late and filming time is consumed. Establish logo.
